Position Overview:
The AmeriCorps College Coach role is designed to empower refugee students by providing essential mentorship and support. This position is a part of a collaborative initiative with community partners aimed at fostering educational success and personal growth for individuals navigating new environments.

Our organization is dedicated to assisting individuals impacted by humanitarian challenges, facilitating their recovery and integration into society. We focus on leveraging community partnerships to help refugees translate their skills into meaningful contributions within their new communities.

Member Responsibilities:
As a College Coach, you will engage with refugee youth through various after-school programs, providing academic mentorship and guidance. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Participating in mentorship activities at least once a week.
  • Assisting in the development of educational programs.
  • Serving as a liaison between educational institutions and community partners.
  • Coordinating a minimum of three goal-oriented activities, such as career exploration events, workshops, and college tours.
  • Identifying and mentoring refugee and immigrant college students.
  • Supporting administrative tasks related to enrollment and program coordination.

Members will receive comprehensive training, an education award upon successful completion of service, a relocation allowance, and a living allowance.

Service Terms:
This position allows for attendance at educational institutions during off-hours and permits additional employment during non-service hours. A personal vehicle is recommended for this role.
