Position Summary:
Aveanna Healthcare is seeking dedicated Long Term Certified Special Education Instructors to join our team.

The available roles are within a public educational setting catering to students from kindergarten through 12th grade who experience autism, developmental challenges, and communication difficulties.

The Special Education Instructor will establish and uphold an exceptional learning atmosphere by designing and executing a classroom framework tailored to the diverse needs of each student and the collective classroom environment.

Key responsibilities encompass crafting and delivering lesson plans, conducting classes, formulating and executing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), initiating student assessments, documenting progress, fostering an instructional setting conducive to the growth of students, and collaborating effectively with related services personnel to meet the needs of students.


Essential Duties:
  • Design and implement lesson plans while adapting instruction to accommodate the unique requirements of students
  • Provide behavioral support and management
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress
  • Engage in meetings and collaborative discussions

Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree along with a minimum of three months of relevant teaching experience (such as student teaching or internships)
A valid state certification in special education
Preferred experience working with a diverse range of disabilities
Strong interpersonal and communication abilities

Physical Demands:
Ability to speak, write, read, and comprehend English
Capability to lift up to 50 pounds
Extended periods of walking, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, and twisting
Ability to reposition students and move equipment independently

Work Environment:
Must be adaptable to various environments, which may include exposure to allergens and other conditions
Potential exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and infectious diseases
