RN Student Nurse Extern PRN General Surgery Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate RN Student Nurse Extern to join our team at Henrico Doctors' Hospital Forest. As a Nurse Extern, you will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and assist with providing patient care. Your primary responsibilities will include delivering high-quality patient-centered care services, performing direct and indirect patient care, and working closely with the clinical team to create and implement a care plan.
Responsibilities- Assist with patient mobility, including turning, positioning, and ambulating patients
- Obtain and record initial and ongoing patient information throughout the cycle of care
- Translate complex medical terminology to ensure patients/families/caregivers understand patient medical condition, treatment plan, medications, and possible side effects
- Educate patients/families/caregivers on healthy diet, exercise, disease prevention, and lifestyle changes that may be needed upon discharge
- Currently enrolled and in good standing in an accredited school of nursing
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Ability to create and implement a personal career development plan
