Nurse Extern PRN General Surgery Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Nurse Extern PRN to join our team at Henrico Doctors' Hospital Forest. As a Nurse Extern PRN, you will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and assist with providing patient care. Your primary responsibilities will include delivering high-quality patient-centered care services, working closely with the clinical team to create and implement care plans, and assisting with patient mobility and transfers.
Responsibilities- Deliver high-quality patient-centered care services related to common nursing functions and activities of daily living.
- Work closely with the clinical team to create and implement care plans.
- Assist with patient mobility and transfers.
- Obtain and record initial and ongoing patient information throughout the cycle of care.
- Translate complex medical terminology to ensure patients/families/caregivers understand patient medical condition, treatment plan, medications, and possible side effects and follow-up measures.
- Educate patients/families/caregivers on healthy diet, exercise, disease prevention, and/or lifestyle changes that may be needed upon discharge and prepares for future self-management.
- Currently enrolled and in good standing in an accredited school of nursing.
- Possess the ability to create and implement a personal career development plan, to be reviewed regularly by supervisor and/or preceptor.
- One year of completed nursing school is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
