About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Test Engineer to join our team at Netflix. As a Test Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of our live streaming services, which are enjoyed by millions of viewers around the world.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop automation tests for live streaming applications
  • Run manual tests when automation is not possible
  • Track defects and inconsistencies in functionality
  • Communicate results to upstream teams
  • Collaborate with various engineering teams to improve test case coverage and convert manual tests to automation
Requirements
  • Expertise in writing code to automate tests for streaming media applications
  • Proficiency in Python, Typescript, JavaScript, or similar languages
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on critical thinking and a testability mindset
  • Good understanding of CI/CD principles
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks
  • Proven ability to tailor communication to a given audience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with CE devices (Smart TVs, Set-top boxes, or Streaming sticks)
  • Test Management and Bug Tracking Tools: Experience with JIRA, or equivalent tools
  • Experience performing manual testing where automation cannot be achieved

Compensation and Benefits

This position requires flexibility in work hours, including availability for weekends, holidays, and late nights when necessary. Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $270,000 - $720,000. Netflix provides comprehensive benefits including Health Plans, Mental Health support, a 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer match, Stock Option Program, Disability Programs, Health Savings and Flexible Spending Accounts, Family-forming benefits, and Life and Serious Injury Benefits. We also offer paid leave of absence programs.
