Job Summary:

The eero Foundations org at Amazon is responsible for maintaining, scaling, and developing distributed systems critical to our operations. We are seeking a skilled Software Development Engineer II to join our team and contribute to the development of secure and reliable software.

This role is focused on security at eero, working closely with the Security Engineers in our cloud systems. The successful candidate will help us evaluate the security of feature engineers' design and code, as well as building security-focused tooling and software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop software libraries, patterns, and services that enable engineers to be secure by default
  • Improve monitoring to detect anomalous behavior
  • Review and perform threat analysis on system designs
  • Advise project teams on security requirements
  • Create tools to perform security checks and alerting early in the development process
  • Participate in incident response

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
