Job Summary:

At DIMAR MANUFACTURING, we are seeking a skilled Fabrication Specialist to join our team. As a Fabrication Specialist, you will be responsible for fabricating and welding components to produce high-quality products, while meeting departmental performance standards, customer specifications, and delivery requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fabrication and Welding: Use MIG and/or TIG welding techniques to assemble components according to blueprints and job travelers.
  • Quality Control: Verify part numbers and check for accuracy before assembly to ensure customer specifications are met.
  • Measurement and Layout: Accurately measure and lay out locations for welded components to ensure proper fit and finish.
  • Welding Adjustments: Adjust welds as needed to accommodate varying thicknesses of steel.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Operate Equipment: Operate grinders, drills, band saws, torches, and cranes as assigned.
  • Record Keeping: Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, and documentation, including accurately completing daily labor cards and submitting them at the conclusion of the shift.
  • Safety and Compliance: Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations, as well as maintain departmental housekeeping standards.
  • Training and Development: Assist in training new employees in safe and efficient use of fabricating and welding methods.
  • Part Shortage Notification: Notify supervisors of part shortages before the parts run out.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge and Skills: Reads and accurately interprets blueprints at an advanced level, able to learn operations of multiple jigs/fixtures within a job area, and must be able to regularly rotate jobs to meet schedules.
  • Welding Capabilities: Skill level includes MIG, TIG, and pipe welding capabilities as outlined in attached level breakdown.
  • Production Efficiency: Must work at a reasonable pace (measured by production efficiency) and within quality standards to ensure timely completion.
  • Attention to Detail: Able to follow directions and perform repetitive tasks, with the ability to understand and carry out detailed written and oral instructions.

Education and Experience:

  • Education: High School Diploma.
  • Experience: 2-4 years of previous welding experience with non-structural components.
  • Welding Test: Must successfully complete in-house welding test.
