Job Title: Student Project Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Student Project Engineer to join our team at Calista Brice Holding Company. As a Student Project Engineer, you will assist the Project Manager, onsite Superintendent, Foreman, and Project Engineer with documentation and administrative functions of the project.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with documentation and administrative functions of the project
  • Work with the Project Manager, onsite Superintendent, Foreman, and Project Engineer to ensure project completion
  • Collect timecards and equipment usage reports
  • Enter information into Heavy Job software daily for time and equipment entry
  • Review and calculate quantities upon receipt of pay estimate
  • Coordinate tasks with grade checker
  • Communicate with the grade checkers for quantity calculations
  • Administer site storm water pollution prevention plan (SWPPP)
  • Maintain an organized field office
  • Maintain job diary, job photograph and video logs
  • Draft route correspondence as needed
  • Document changed work and conditions for Superintendent, Project Manager and Corporate Office
  • Assist with project health, safety, and environmental requirements
  • Assist Superintendent and Project Engineer with updating project schedule
  • Assist with Scale House operations
  • Assist in entering job costing and additional data entry
Requirements:
  • Completion of 2- or 3-years' postsecondary education in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Surveying, Environmental Engineering, or related course studies
  • Excellent computer skills including MS Word and Excel
  • Valid current state driver's license and must be qualified to operate a vehicle under the conditions of Calista Brice Holding Company's Driving Policy
  • Ability to pass a drug, driving record and background screening
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in the construction industry preferred; heavy civil construction strongly preferred
  • Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Lead (CESCL) Certification preferred
