Job Summary:

At KPMG, we are seeking a highly skilled Tax Manager to join our State and Local Tax (SALT) practice. As a Tax Manager, you will be responsible for providing tax research and planning services to clients, including compliance, advising, and controversies. You will also assist in the preparation of state income tax returns and work with a multi-disciplinary team to provide subject matter expertise.

Responsibilities:

Participate in multi-state alternative investment firms with state and local tax issues

Assist multi-state companies with state and local tax controversies

Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide subject matter expertise

Review information presented on state income tax returns

Build and manage client relationships

Qualifications:

Minimum five years of recent experience performing tax research and preparing state income tax returns

Licensed CPA, EA, JD/LLM or MTX

Experience providing services to pass-through entities and a solid knowledge of relevant state tax concepts

Capability to foster relationships both internally and with clients

Ability and desire to perform in a high-energy team environment
