About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Technician to join our team at WVU Medicine. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in coordination with licensed medical staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Observe and report patient concerns and changes in condition to a registered nurse immediately.
  • Assist with admission, transfer, discharge, and general patient care duties.
  • Record vital signs, assist with personal hygiene, and provide patient comfort measures.
  • Assist with specimen collection and other patient care activities.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment to prevent and control infections.
  • Report equipment repairs to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
  • Prepare patients for examinations and diagnostic procedures.
  • Communicate with RN regarding nutrition issues.
  • Assist with administrative tasks to support department operations.
  • Answer patient call bells and relay messages to appropriate personnel.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior patient care experience.
