Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team at Katy Independent School District. As an Inclusion Specialist, you will work closely with students, teachers, and parents to provide individualized support and instruction to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with significant cognitive, physical, and medical needs.
  • Provide consultation and instruction to meet the needs of eligible students with disabilities.
  • Communicate with campus staff, district special education staff, and parents/guardians to ensure effective collaboration and support.
  • Administer criterion-referenced testing and develop PLAAFP (Progress and Learning Accomplishment and Functional Performance) reports.
  • Provide non-medical procedures, such as tube feeding and other interventions, as necessary for students.
  • Complete state assessments for eligible students and maintain accurate records.
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and needs/concerns.
  • Supervise assigned teacher aides and student teachers, as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Valid Texas certificate in the appropriate area.
  • Ability to work effectively between the school and community.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • CPI certification once employed.
