Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Certified Special Education Substitute Teacher to join our team at TX-STAR Speech Language Services.

As a Contract Certified Special Education Substitute Teacher, you will play a critical role in providing instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver instruction tailored to the needs of individual students with disabilities.
  • Monitor student progress and collect data to inform instruction.
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and behavior management.
  • Collaborate with educational assistants, therapists, and other support staff to provide a comprehensive educational experience for students.
  • Be available to step in on short notice to cover special education teacher absences, demonstrating adaptability and a commitment to student success.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with school staff, parents, and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities.
Assignment Details
  • Ready and willing to provide support across the full continuum of services provided to special education students, including inclusive and self-contained settings.
  • Elementary, Middle, and High School settings.
  • In-person instruction.
Position Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education.
  • Valid Texas teaching certification in Special Education.
  • Experience working with students with disabilities.
  • Knowledge of Individual Education Plans and special education best practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to various classroom environments and learning styles.
