Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Home Health Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in home health care, with excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. The COTA will be responsible for providing one-on-one patient care, performing skilled procedures as ordered by the physician, and participating in patient care planning. A strong understanding of Agency policies and procedures is essential, as well as the ability to work effectively with our clinical software (Kinnser).
Responsibilities
• Performs skilled procedures as ordered by the physician and according to the plan of care established by the OT
• Participates with all other home care personnel in patient care planning
• Instructs patients and family members in-home programs and fine motor movement exercises
• Prepares medical records and updates care plans for each patient visit in a timely manner as per Agency policy
• Performs services planned, delegated, and supervised by the OT
• Participates in educating the patient and family
• Performs maintenance therapy services under a maintenance program established by a qualified therapist, when acting within the therapy scope of practice defined by applicable state licensure laws
Requirements
• Graduate with a degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant from a program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA)
• Certification is maintained by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy, Inc.
• Two (2) years of experience in home health care, preferred
• Current CPR certification, TB test, Health Statement/physical clearing to work, and eligible Level 2 background
• Ideal candidates would have Medicare-Certified Home Health experience and comfort using user-friendly clinical software (Kinnser)
