Reality Capture Specialist

Orbital Engineering, Inc. is seeking a skilled Reality Capture Technician to support our Hammond, IN Office. This position involves conducting 3D scanning procedures in a heavy industrial environment, requiring frequent travel to customer sites locally and regionally across the greater Midwest, with occasional travel across the country.

• Perform reality capture tasks using lidar and photogrammetry equipment, including terrestrial scanners, mobile scanners, drones, and Matterport cameras
• Set up job sites with targets, plan equipment placement, and capture properties accordingly
• Process and register data using software such as Faro Scene, Autodesk ReCap
• Deploy web viewers to enable remote viewing by clients
• Teach clients how to operate scan viewing software via in-person or web meetings

• Travel will be required frequently
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical and organizational skills, and attention to detail
• Must have time management skills and the ability to meet firm deadlines

• Associate and/or bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or related field
• Experience with Faro Scene, LFM, Autodesk ReCap, and Leica Total Station
• Previous reality capture and/or surveying experience
• Active OSHA 10 and/or TWIC card
• Autodesk AutoCAD and Plant3D proficiency
• Licensed surveyor
• FAA Part 107 sUAS Pilot license
• Experience with Trimble GPS data collection

• Must be able to walk with equipment at client sites for an entire day when needed
• Must be able to climb ladders and stairs with equipment when needed
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Ability to carry up to 20-30 pounds of equipment throughout the worksite
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds to put equipment into a vehicle

Must possess a valid driver's license
