The Risk Division is a team of specialists who manage the firm's credit, market, liquidity, and operational risk. This includes assessing the creditworthiness of counterparties, monitoring market risks associated with trading activities, and offering analytical and regulatory compliance support. Our work contributes directly to the firm's success.
Job Summary
The Credit Risk Division is responsible for managing the firm's credit exposure to its trading and lending counterparties. Credit Risk professionals leverage their expertise in financial, credit, and risk analysis to ensure that credit exposure is managed within the firm's risk appetite.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct fundamental credit analysis of quantitative and qualitative credit factors on Structured Finance and Commercial Real Estate financings.
- Review counterparties, recommending internal risk ratings and regulatory risk ratings as applicable.
- Monitor and assess counterparts and industry subsectors, reporting relevant information to senior management in a timely manner.
- Develop a thorough understanding of counterparty financial disclosures and transaction memoranda.
- Identify and escalate notable industry and performance trends, recommending action to senior team members.
- Monitor counterparties' performance in the portfolio, including adherence to covenants and analysis of performance relative to budget and/or underwriting expectations.
- Determine macro factors impacting fundamental credit quality at industry and sub-sector levels.
- Prepare analysis supporting counterparties' ratings for Federal regulatory examinations.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree
- 2-4 years of relevant experience in credit analysis or asset/portfolio management
Preferred Qualifications
- Industry knowledge of Structured Finance and/or Commercial Real Estate Financing
- Functional background or relevant experience in asset finance and accounting
- Experience in credit analysis, ratings analysis, corporate finance, and/or research
- Strong analytical and communication skills, both oral and written
- Team player with ability to work effectively with colleagues in other regional offices
The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 - $180,000 per year, based on the job requirements and industry standards.
