Immigration Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Immigration Officer to join our team at Citizenship and Immigration Services. As a key member of our Fraud Detection and National Security Directorate, you will play a critical role in strengthening national security and the integrity of the country's legal immigration system.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct research and provide guidance to enhance current policies and procedures related to immigration benefit fraud, public safety, and national security concerns.
- Identify, articulate, and pursue suspected immigration benefit fraud, public safety, and national security concerns through administrative investigations and site visits.
- Develop and implement anti-fraud tools and methodologies to collect and analyze data to identify fraud trends and patterns.
- Serve as a liaison to law enforcement and intelligence agencies, participating in inter-agency task forces and partner-agency investigations.
- Develop, document, and disseminate intelligence-related data and training materials to internal and external partners.
- Serve as an expert witness and represent Citizenship and Immigration Services in related court proceedings.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National.
- Must pass a Background Investigation, including financial disclosure.
- Must pass a drug screening.
- Must submit resume and supporting documentation.
- Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered with the Selective Service.
- Political appointees may require OPM approval before on-boarding.
- Candidates must have resided in the United States for three of the last five years immediately prior to applying for this position.
- Selected applicants may be required to serve a probationary period of 1 year.
- GS-11: One (1) year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the federal government.
- GS-12: One (1) year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the federal government.
- GS-13: One (1) year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the federal government.
- Background Investigation: All selected applicants must undergo and successfully pass a background investigation.
- Training: Selected applicants must attend the residential, paid FDNS Officer Basic Training course and the residential, paid USCIS BASIC Officer training program.
