Mental Health Technician Position

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Mental Health Technician to join our dynamic team of healthcare professionals in the Behavioral Health Department. In this role, you will work under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and assist the nursing staff in providing patient care. Your primary function will be to provide behavioral health care interventions utilizing the least restrictive interventions that are consistent with a culture of recovery and Trauma Informed Care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform vital signs, assist patients with activities of daily living, and assist with treatments or procedures within documented level of competency.
  • Provide for the safety of patients, visitors, and staff by completing routine and special safety checks.
  • Actively participate in quality management activities by timely reporting of staff, family, visitor, or quality concerns.
  • Facilitate or assist with patient community, education, or activity groups and document patient participation.
Requirements:
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date.
  • High School Graduate / GED.
