The Los Angeles office of SmithGroup is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform analysis, design, and documentation of building electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting design, fire alarm, security, audio/visual, and telecommunications systems.
  • Independently provide the full range of electrical engineering services on small to medium-sized projects.
  • Revise, review, and coordinate construction documents.
  • Mentor and train junior-level staff.
  • Develop solutions to challenging electrical power distribution and lighting systems with integrated architecture and engineering project design teams.
  • Contribute to SmithGroup's sustainable design initiatives by using various software to perform electrical loads, short-circuit analysis, generator loads, and lighting calculations.
Requirements:
  • A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working as an electrical engineer designing electrical power distribution and lighting systems for new and renovated healthcare, research lab, higher ed, and other critical building types.
  • LEED AP and Engineering-in-Training certification preferred, and in progress of obtaining PE license.
  • Proficiency in Revit and/or AutoCAD and Microsoft Office required.
Benefits:

SmithGroup offers a competitive compensation and benefit package designed to meet the needs of a diverse staff. The anticipated salary range for this position is $102,000 to $133,000 annually. We may ultimately pay more or less than the anticipated salary range for this position. Additionally, an employee in this position is eligible for a performance-based bonus on an annual basis. Our comprehensive benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, flexible spending account options, and voluntary insurances.

We provide an opportunity to invest in your future through our 401(k) program with employer matching and a continuing education reimbursement.

We offer 3 weeks of paid time off within the first year of employment, with the option of purchasing additional time off, 8 paid federal holidays, and parental leave benefits.
