About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join The J. M. Smucker Company as a key member of the operations leadership team. As a Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for leading the maintenance team to deliver business needs while prioritizing employee safety, product quality, and productivity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the maintenance team to develop and implement maintenance plans, schedules, and priorities.
  • Collaborate with operating departments to develop technical acumen, understand and apply Progressive Maintenance tools, and prioritize work effectively.
  • Develop and maintain a budget for maintenance activities and ensure effective resource allocation.
  • Lead the site Progressive Maintenance (PM) Pillar and collaborate with the corporate PM Pillar Team.
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the safety, quality, and efficiency of maintenance operations.
  • Work closely with the Plant Engineer to execute on the 5-year Capital Expenditure strategy to upgrade and maintain plant facilities and equipment.
  • Participate in and/or lead improvement teams to provide targeted improvements to meet plant and company objectives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team to deliver business needs with a focus on employee safety, product quality, and productivity.
  • Experience with maintenance work development, planning, and scheduling.
  • Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience coaching and growing capability in maintenance technicians.
  • Experience leading and executing capital projects to upgrade and maintain plant facilities and equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across organization boundaries and with diverse teams.
  • Effective presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to gather and validate data independently and analyze data to determine optimal solutions.
