Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Childcare Provider to join our team at Pennsylvania College of Technology. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing daily program activities, ensuring the safety and well-being of children, and maintaining accurate records.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Group Leader in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate daily program activities.
  • Comply with all requirements for the protection and safety of children, including following the Center's plan for medical emergencies and site evacuations.
  • Assist with the safe arrival and departure of children, and maintain a clean and organized classroom environment.
  • Participate in staff development opportunities and attend staff and joint academic program and Center planning meetings.
  • Serve as a positive role model for children, Penn College students, and volunteers, and encourage parental involvement in Center activities.
Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalency, with 15 credit hours in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Elementary Education, or Special Education (desired).
  • Two years of work experience with young children (birth to 8 years), unless the candidate possesses an Associate degree; or one year of experience and 15 credit hours in ECE or a related discipline.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and sensitivity to the expectations of children and parents.
  • Knowledge of Pennsylvania regulations related to Child Care Centers, and the ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
Working Conditions

This is a part-time position, with a maximum of 18 hours per week. The schedule will be as needed, and the candidate must be willing to work flexible hours. A background check, State Police, Child Line, FBI fingerprint, and National Sex Offender Registry clearances are required before employment can begin.

The hourly rate for this position is $12.00.
