Job Title: Patient Accounts Representative

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Accounts Representative to join our team at MedMark Treatment Center. As a Patient Accounts Representative, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our revenue cycle, from patient billing to insurance verification and claims processing.

Responsibilities:
  • Verify patient insurance benefits and billing information, ensuring accurate and timely processing of claims.
  • Process and maintain patient accounts, including fiscal records and transactions.
  • Communicate with patients, insurance providers, and other stakeholders to resolve billing and payment issues.
  • Reconcile daily money collected and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Monitor insurance authorizations and claim rejections, taking corrective action as needed.
  • Perform tasks consistent with authorization and billing requirements, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Assist with archiving discharged files and maintaining confidentiality of patient records.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to patient inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless communication and efficient workflow.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent with at least 2 years of experience in a medical office setting.
  • 2-4 years of experience with Medicaid and commercial insurance, preferably in a medical billing or revenue cycle role.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, insurance providers, and other stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of medical insurance claims procedures, documentation, and records maintenance.
  • Proficient in basic PC skills, with experience in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work with a diverse population, manage stressful situations, and exhibit excellent customer service skills.
  • Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check.
