Role Responsibilities

The Senior Civil Engineer will spearhead a variety of civil engineering design initiatives across multiple sectors, including commercial aviation, federal government, military, and industrial projects. This role encompasses a diverse range of responsibilities, including:
  • Leading the design of airfield and infrastructure projects, focusing on airfield pavements, geometric layouts, and facilities.
  • Conducting comprehensive civil engineering design tasks such as problem analysis, layout design, calculations, and specification writing.
  • Developing master plans for advanced facilities catering to commercial aviation and federal clients, including aircraft maintenance and training facilities.
  • Designing site infrastructure, encompassing road geometry, utility layouts, grading, and drainage systems.
  • Creating airfield infrastructure designs for regional and international airports, ensuring detailed pavement design and effective stormwater management.

Team Collaboration

As part of our integrated design team within the Aviation & Federal Global Practice, you will:
  • Prepare detailed drawings and specifications for civil engineering components of projects.
  • Engage in site master planning, focusing on facility layout, vehicular access, and pedestrian pathways.
  • Oversee grading design and earthwork calculations to ensure optimal site development.
  • Design utility systems, ensuring efficient routing and coordination with other disciplines.
  • Implement stormwater management strategies, including hydrologic modeling and flood control measures.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or a related field from an ABET-accredited program.
  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, preferably in consulting, with a master's degree potentially substituting for one year of experience.
  • A Professional Engineer (PE) license in Civil Engineering.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, alongside proficiency in standard engineering practices.
  • Experience with essential software tools, including Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and 3D modeling software.
