Cable Harness Quoting Supervisor

We are looking for a Quoting Manager to spearhead and refine our quoting procedures for custom cable harnesses. The ideal candidate will manage the quoting team, optimize workflows, and guarantee prompt and precise responses to client requests. This position is vital for minimizing quote cycle durations and enhancing overall client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership:
- Supervise and direct the Quoting team, ensuring a conducive and secure work environment.
- Address employee concerns or issues swiftly and effectively.
Quote Management:
- Identify and assess Requests for Quotes (RFQs) and other client specifications to ensure they align with company capabilities and client expectations.
- Oversee the complete quoting process from start to finish, including drafting, reviewing, and finalizing quotes.
Process Enhancement:
- Establish and monitor metrics for timeline objectives related to information collection, writing, review, and approval of quotes.
- Evaluate and modify quoting processes to boost efficiency and compliance with ISO9001 standards. Ensure ongoing improvement by routinely reviewing and updating quoting practices to align with industry best practices.
Content Development:
- Draft, revise, and edit quotes and supporting documents, including executive summaries, detailed cost breakdowns, and organizational overviews.
- Generate content related to quotes, including documents, tables of contents, and visual presentations as necessary.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate closely with engineering, production, and other relevant teams to ensure quotes are accurate and feasible, reflecting the best available information at the time.
- Ensure that proposed projects can be delivered on schedule, within budget, and to specified quality standards.
- Promote effective communication channels between departments to ensure that all project details are clearly understood and integrated into the quoting process.
Performance Management:
- Drive the team to meet or exceed quote timeline targets: 2 days for simple quotes, 5 days for complex quotes, and 10 days for more intricate projects.
- Regularly assess team performance and implement corrective measures if targets are not achieved.
- Maintain and oversee the integrity of proposal databases and tracking tools.
General Responsibilities:
- Perform additional duties as assigned that align with the core responsibilities of the role and contribute to overall team objectives.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in quoting, estimating, or program management, preferably within a manufacturing or technical industry. Experience in cable harness manufacturing is highly preferred.
- 7+ years of management experience.
- Knowledge of IPC 620 standards and ISO 9001.
- Strong mathematical skills and proficiency in cost estimation.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
- Ability to effectively communicate complex technical details to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
