Job Summary

MJ CARE INC is seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team of professionals dedicated to providing exceptional educational services to children with exceptional educational needs. As a Speech Language Pathologist - Schools, you will play a vital role in developing and implementing a school-based speech-language pathology program that meets the unique needs of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized speech-language therapy plans to address the communication needs of students with exceptional educational needs.
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations to identify students' communication strengths and weaknesses, and develop targeted interventions to address areas of need.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Provide direct and indirect speech-language therapy services to students in educational environments, including one-on-one therapy sessions, group therapy sessions, and consultation with teachers and other professionals.
  • Travel to and among schools to provide services to students, as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of student progress, including daily documentation, IEPs, and progress reports.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of school-wide initiatives to support students with exceptional educational needs.
  • Stay current with best practices in speech-language pathology and participate in ongoing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from a school accredited by the American Speech Language Hearing Association.
  • Current Department of Public Instruction license in good standing required for Wisconsin positions.
  • Current Illinois State Board of Education license in good standing required for Illinois positions.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence is required for SLPs in a mentor role and is highly recommended when filling school-based assignments.
  • 1+ year of experience preferred.
Skills and Knowledge
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and billing software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, parents, and other professionals.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in emergency or crisis situations, and provide adequate assistance as needed.
  • Valid driver's license in the state of residence, with a reliable vehicle and proof of valid auto insurance.
Working Conditions

The Speech Language Pathologist - Schools will work in a variety of educational settings, including schools and clinics. The position requires the ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds, and to stand and walk for extended periods of time. The position also requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines.
