Job Summary

MJ CARE INC is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Speech Language Pathologist to join our team of professionals in providing exceptional educational services to children with exceptional educational needs. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will be responsible for organizing, developing, and implementing a school-based speech-language pathology program that provides direct and consultative services to children and educational staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development and Implementation
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive speech-language pathology program that meets the needs of children with exceptional educational needs.
    • Provide direct and consultative services to children and educational staff to improve speech and language skills.
  • Assessment and Evaluation
    • Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations of children referred to the program.
    • Interpret evaluation findings and prepare written reports of the evaluation.
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Collaborate with educational staff, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
    • Communicate effectively with children, parents, and educational staff to ensure that speech and language services are meeting the needs of the children.
  • Record Keeping and Reporting
    • Maintain accurate and timely records of children's progress and services provided.
    • Prepare and submit reports to educational staff, parents, and other professionals as required.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology from a school accredited by the American Speech Language Hearing Association.
  • License and Certification
    • Current Department of Public Instruction license in good standing required for Wisconsin positions.
    • Current Illinois State Board of Education license in good standing required for Illinois positions.
    • Certificate of Clinical Competence is required for SLPs in a mentor role and is highly recommended when filling school-based assignments.
  • Experience
    • 1+ year of experience preferred.
  • Skills and Knowledge
    • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and billing software.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
    • Knowledge of speech and language development and disorders.
