Job Summary

Penn State University is seeking a highly qualified Child Care Teacher to join our team at the Child Care Center at Hort Woods. As a Child Care Teacher, you will be responsible for creating and providing high-quality learning environments for young children and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Classroom Management: Support and maintain high-quality classroom standards in a laboratory setting.
  • Curriculum Development: Coordinate and implement an innovative curriculum model with a team of colleagues.
  • Relationship Building: Establish and maintain relationships of cooperation and respect with all co-workers, supervisors, and families.
  • Training and Development: Provide oversight and training of interns and student teachers in early childhood education undergraduate programs.
  • Quality Standards: Maintain standards in accordance with National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) accreditation and PA Keystone STARS 4 quality standards.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or related field.
  • Experience: 1 year of relevant experience in early childhood education.
  • Clearances: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check, and the National Sex Offender Registry Clearance (NSOR).
  • Health Requirements: Health physical with TB test required prior to starting the position.
