Job Summary:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching special education students in an urban setting, developing individualized education plans, and collaborating with colleagues to ensure student success. Responsibilities:

  • Teach special education students in an urban setting, using a variety of instructional methods to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that address the unique needs and goals of each student.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure student success, including sharing resources, expertise, and best practices.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to keep them informed about their child's progress and involve them in the educational process.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education and to enhance your leadership skills.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • A valid California teaching credential, preferably in Special Education.
  • Experience working with special education students in an urban setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with colleagues, parents, and students.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a focus on student success.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to adjust to changing circumstances and priorities.

What We Offer:

We offer a competitive salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, commensurate with experience, plus benefits and opportunities for professional growth and development.
