Position Summary:
The Project Surveyor will be responsible for overseeing survey projects, ensuring compliance with accuracy standards, budgets, and schedules. This role involves direct collaboration with the Survey Manager and offers opportunities for professional growth within various territories.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate survey projects, ensuring all requirements are met.
  • Conduct thorough project research, including plats, deeds, and estimates, prior to crew dispatch.
  • Ensure Crew Chiefs are informed of job specifics and any unique circumstances.
  • Monitor fieldwork progress and manage task assignments for drafting.
  • Evaluate team performance and contribute to personnel decisions.
  • Communicate project scope effectively to field crews and CAD drafters.
  • Provide calculated property corners for replacing lost or damaged monumentation.
  • Address client inquiries regarding surveys and expected delivery timelines.
  • Handle sales inquiries, project quotations, and payment processing as needed.
  • Direct project efforts, maintain client relationships, and ensure effective communication within the company and with external stakeholders.
  • Stay updated on boundary laws and construction practices.
  • Conduct site visits and fieldwork as required.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and share insights with the team.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of land surveying principles and practices. Strong communication skills are essential for success in this role.
  • Proficient in operating various survey instruments, including conventional and robotic total stations, GPS, and drones.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise project survey staff effectively.
  • Skilled in reading and interpreting titles, deeds, plats, plans, and specifications.
  • Able to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines consistently.
  • Capable of identifying and implementing effective solutions to complete assignments.
  • Maintain organized files of plats, documents, and records.
  • Strong problem-solving skills related to surveying calculations and property boundaries.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and clients.
  • Proficient in MS Office and CAD software such as Civil 3D or Carlson.

Experience Requirements:
  • Current Georgia Professional Land Surveying License.
  • A minimum of 5 years of project management experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in land surveying.
  • Additional credentials in Land Surveying or Land Planning are advantageous.
