Quality Electrical Systems is in search of a skilled Maintenance Technician specializing in Facilities and Equipment. The primary duties involve executing preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment, alongside general upkeep of the facility. A solid understanding of hydraulic systems, plumbing, heating, electrical wiring, HVAC, and welding is essential. The role also includes identifying and reporting safety issues by conducting inspections of the premises and equipment to ensure compliance with safety regulations, as well as documenting, monitoring, and scheduling necessary repairs. The ideal candidate should possess over 5 years of experience in electrical or mechanical maintenance within an industrial setting and have experience in a supervisory capacity.
Shift Details: Evening shift from 2:00 PM to 1:00 AM, Monday through Thursday, with some flexibility. Availability for rotating weekends is required. An additional hourly rate of $3.50 is provided for evening shifts.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct routine maintenance tasks around the facility, including structural repairs such as windows, doors, and walls, as well as replacing HVAC and machine filters.
- Fix leaking plumbing to prevent water damage and restore functionality to water fixtures, including soldering copper pipes for air and water lines.
- Utilize knowledge of electrical schematics to address equipment and building repairs resulting from wear, failure, or damage.
- Ensure proper functioning of HVAC systems to maintain climate control within the facility.
- Demonstrate proficiency with hand tools, torque wrenches, impact tools, drills, drill presses, and oxyacetylene torches.
- Implement preventive measures to minimize the risk of future maintenance issues.
- Perform touch-up painting, sheetrock repairs, and maintain the overall appearance of the facility for both customers and employees.
- Diagnose and repair standard electrical components, identifying minor issues before they escalate.
- Possess experience with hydraulic systems and schematics, able to troubleshoot problems using specific machine diagrams.
- Exhibit welding skills in GTAW, FCAW, and GMAW, with the ability to pass a visual weld test during the interview process; AWS certification is preferred but not mandatory.
- Install new equipment and comprehend technical manuals, blueprints, and procurement of replacement parts for repairs.
- Experience with overhead crane operation and repair is advantageous but not essential.
- Familiarity with forklift operation and repair is a plus but not required.
- Understand basic inventory management and know when to request necessary parts and supplies.
