About the Role

The Kitchen Manager is a key member of our team at Roots Natural Kitchen, responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the back of house. This includes managing a team of crew members, ensuring compliance with company standards, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Team Management
    • Communicate the company vision to crew members to ensure a positive and productive work environment
    • Collaborate with leadership team to improve crew leadership skills and promote a culture of excellence
    • Develop and implement training programs to support crew members in their roles
  • Food Safety and Quality
    • Ensure crew members are aware of and adhere to food safety practices and standards
    • Conduct regular food safety audits and implement corrective actions as needed
    • Monitor and maintain the quality of food preparation and presentation
  • Inventory Management and Financial Accountability
    • Take weekly food inventories and manage inventory levels to minimize waste and optimize ordering
    • Monitor and manage labor costs, including scheduling and staffing
    • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial data
  • Operational Excellence
    • Develop and implement processes to improve kitchen efficiency and productivity

Requirements
  • Prior restaurant management experience preferred
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work a varied schedule, including nights and weekends
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
