Job Title: Residential Adjunct Instructor - Physical Therapist Assistant Fundamentals Lab

Rasmussen University is seeking a highly qualified Residential Adjunct Instructor to teach in our Physical Therapist Assistant Fundamentals Lab. As a member of our faculty, you will play a critical role in shaping the next generation of healthcare professionals.

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Physical Therapist Assistant with a passion for teaching and a commitment to excellence. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching our Physical Therapist Assistant Fundamentals Lab course, which focuses on the fundamentals of data collection within the physical therapist assistant scope of practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in physical therapy, excellent communication skills, and the ability to create a dynamic and engaging learning environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach the Physical Therapist Assistant Fundamentals Lab course, which includes lectures, discussions, and hands-on activities.
  • Develop and implement curriculum and assessment for the course, in collaboration with the Academic Dean.
  • Provide feedback to students on their performance and progress throughout the course.
  • Be available for students via phone, email, and individual appointments as needed.
  • Respond to Dean/University staff in regards to performance, student issues/concerns, or items needed for faculty file/accreditation needs in a timely manner.
Requirements:
  • Master's or Doctorate in Physical Therapy or Physical Therapist Assistant Associate's degree with a Bachelor's in any field of study.
  • PT or PTA License.
  • 2+ years experience as a PT/PTA in outpatient and/or inpatient practice settings, preferred experience with orthopedic conditions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact with students, leadership, and peers.
  • Excellent written communication and strong verbal communication skills in the English language.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Teaching experience preferred.
  • Clinical preceptor experience preferred.
  • Self-motivated, flexible, and able to work in a team environment with minimal supervision.
