About the Role

We are seeking a PRN Radiology Tech Student to join our team at Sovah Health - Martinsville. As a Radiology Tech Student, you will assist technologists with obtaining radiographs and perform various imaging procedures under the scope and standards of practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist technologists with obtaining radiographs with stationary and fluoroscopic equipment.
  • Assist technologists with obtaining radiographs with portable units as deemed necessary on the nursing units as well as within the radiology department.
  • Monitor patient condition continually and report/respond to changes in status as appropriate.
  • Prepare equipment and supplies.
  • Assist technologists with positioning patients and the performance of imaging procedures.
  • Assure appropriate orders are obtained and followed during the performance of all procedures.
  • Verify patient identification before the performance of any procedure.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Senior in a Program in Radiologic Technology required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Flexibility in scheduling and ability to work all shift patterns including week-ends and holidays to ensure continuity of care and appropriateness of imaging coverage to the patients of Sovah Health - Martinsville.
