Job Summary

The Access Control Supervisor is a key member of the Facilities Management team at the University of Oklahoma, responsible for overseeing the supervision of employees who perform selection, installation, and repair and maintenance of access control devices, mechanical & electrical locks and door hardware, key cutting, as well as recombination of cores.

Key Responsibilities
  • Employee Supervision: Assigns and schedules employees to various work locations based on schedule requirements and knowledge of the individual capabilities of employees.
  • Work Estimation: Makes estimates for all types of work for which the access control and locksmith area is responsible.
  • Master Keyway Management: Responsible for maintaining and creating master keyway records.
  • Information Dissemination: Gathers and/or disseminates a wide variety of information, including standard information about policies and procedures.
  • Employee Evaluation: Supervises and evaluates employee assignments and schedules. Responsible for hiring, training, and evaluating performance.
  • Material Procurement: Assists in selection, procurement, and delivery of materials when necessary to assure no interruption of work in progress in emergency or other unusual situations.
  • Project Review: Reviews drawings, plans, and schematics for new and renovation construction projects.
  • Leadership and Training: Provides leadership and training to ensure quality completion of work assignments. Coordinates with other departments and third-party vendors as necessary to accomplish smooth progress of work commitments.
  • Safety Procedures: Leads by example of and provides measures for proper safety procedures at all times.
  • Additional Duties: Performs relative duties as assigned or as required to successfully fulfill the functions of the position.
Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma or GED.
  • Experience: 48 months of related experience, including 12 months of leadership experience.
  • Skills: Uses tools or equipment with expertise acquired through extensive experience and/or specialized training. Reads and interprets complex written or printed materials, such as blueprints, building plans. Uses oral and written communication as required to train and direct others or give and explain complex instructions. Performs recordkeeping operations.
  • Certifications: Valid Oklahoma Drivers License in order to drive University vehicles or ability to obtain within 30 days from hire date.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to engage in repetitive motions. Holding heavy equipment. Frequent lifting and carrying loads in excess of 50 lbs. Regular exposure to safety hazards. Regular exposure to odors and noise. Regular exposure to extreme weather conditions. Regular exposure to deadlines, interruptions, and pressure to meet productivity standards.
  • Supervision: 7 Access Control Team Members.
