About the Position:

The University of Florida is seeking a highly qualified candidate for a tenure-track faculty position in the Department of Neurosurgery, focusing on Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications in brain tumor diagnosis, treatment, and/or health outcomes. The successful candidate will be part of a campus-wide strategic initiative to hire clusters of faculty members with expertise in AI.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a strong sponsored research program, supervising graduate students and collaborating with other faculty members.
  • Contribute to the development of AI applications in neurosurgery, including data science, machine learning, and AI algorithms.
  • Participate in service to the university and the profession, including committee work and professional development.

Requirements:

  • Ph.D., M.D., or M.D./Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences or a related field.
  • Proficiency in applying machine learning and AI algorithms to neurological diseases.
  • Outstanding record of research accomplishments and a strong interest in graduate education.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in AI research and development, particularly in neurosurgery.
  • Strong publication record and a proven track record of securing research funding.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
