About the Position

The University of Minnesota is seeking a highly qualified Academic Researcher in Water-Food-Climate Change to join our team in the Division of Environmental Health Sciences. As a key member of our faculty, you will contribute to our mission of advancing knowledge and addressing the complex challenges at the intersection of water, food, and climate change.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead innovative research projects to investigate the impacts of climate change on water resources and food systems, with a focus on human health and well-being.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the University and external partners to leverage expertise and resources, and to advance the translation of research into policy and practice.
  • Teach and mentor students in our graduate programs, and contribute to the development of new courses and curricula in environmental health sciences.
  • Engage in outreach and service activities to promote the work of our division and to build partnerships with stakeholders in the public, private, and non-profit sectors.
Requirements
  • PhD or equivalent degree in a relevant field, such as environmental health sciences, public health, climate science, or a related field.
  • Expertise in climate change impacts on water resources and food systems, with a focus on human health and well-being.
  • Strong research and analytical skills, with a track record of publishing in high-impact journals and securing external funding.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and to engage with diverse stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in public health surveillance, applied population health science, climate change adaptation, mathematical modeling, and systems research.
  • Expertise in food safety economics, social and environmental factors that affect the epidemiology of exposure to foodborne diseases and antimicrobial resistance.
