STAFF AUDITOR ROLE

Key Responsibilities
  • As a Staff Auditor, you will engage in a variety of accounting and tax tasks under the guidance of seasoned audit professionals. Your performance will be evaluated based on the quality of your work, your application of accounting principles, and your ability to adhere to deadlines.
  • Conduct reconciliations of client records to trial balances, which may involve analytical assessments, computations of prepaids, accruals, property and equipment, and depreciation expense calculations.
  • Participate in all phases of an engagement, including report writing and tax return preparation.
  • Familiarize yourself with the standards set by the FASB, AICPA, and, for governmental engagements, the GAO and GASB.
  • Achieve proficiency in preparing financial statements using the firm's designated software.
  • Propose enhancements to client systems and operations throughout the engagement.
  • Contribute to the engagement planning process.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients to ensure smooth engagement completion.
  • Understand and adhere to the rules, regulations, and Code of Professional Conduct of the AICPA.
  • Engage in professional development activities, including in-house meetings and external training sessions.
  • Utilize the firm's software to streamline processes, including trial balances, financial statements, and tax returns, potentially integrating client software with our systems.
  • Perform additional accounting, auditing, tax, and consulting tasks as required during engagements.
  • Become acquainted with the firm's policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting.
  • Actively pursuing CPA certification.
  • Completion of a minimum of 60 hours of continuing professional education annually.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and basic personal income tax regulations.
  • Proficient in computer and spreadsheet software applications.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
