Position Summary

The Registered Dietitian plays a crucial role within the interdisciplinary team, utilizing nutritional education to enhance the quality of life for our patients. RDs are tasked with evaluating, monitoring, and instructing patients and their families on the significance of diet and nutrition in managing chronic kidney disease.

Schedule:
Full-time, Monday through Friday, with shifts commencing at 7:00 AM and weekends off.

Compensation:
Annual salary ranging from $68,000 to $73,000, based on renal experience; prior experience is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist patients in making dietary and nutritional choices that enhance their quality of life.
- Conduct thorough nutrition assessments for all new and at-risk patients.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and patients to create and implement tailored care plans based on nutritional evaluations; review monthly and document progress towards set goals.
- Identify necessary interventions to meet nutritional needs based on evidence-based guidelines and current research.
- Educate patients and their families/caregivers about renal diets and fluid management.
- Monitor monthly lab results and weight changes, providing recommendations to achieve established goals.
- Employ a patient-centered care approach, respecting individual and cultural preferences while fostering engagement.
- Participate in the Quality Assessment Performance Improvement process, documenting and attending meetings as per clinic policy.
- Develop and compile nutrition materials to encourage adherence to renal diet guidelines.
- Communicate nutrition-related concerns with the care team, including attending physicians.
- Share advancements in kidney disease and nutrition with the care team as necessary.

Qualifications

- Excellent communication skills.
- Proven clinical proficiency.
- Willingness to collaborate with care teams.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.

Education/Training:
- Must be a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
- A minimum of one year of professional experience in clinical nutrition as a registered dietitian (post-registration exam) is required.
- Previous renal care experience is preferred but not mandatory.
- Job shadowing opportunities are available.
