Job Summary

Berkshire Systems Group Inc is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager to oversee the design and build of end user projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and completing projects on time, within budget, and within scope.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead job kickoffs and site meetings to ensure project objectives are clearly understood by all stakeholders.
  • Prepare Scope of Work with the Sales team to ensure project requirements are accurately documented.
  • Create project schedules and identify project milestones to ensure timely completion.
  • Compile risk analyses and manage risk to ensure project success.
  • Work in conjunction with Site-Superintendents to maintain project efficiency and ensure high-quality workmanship.
  • Effectively communicate job status to end user and/or contractor to ensure transparency and accountability.
  • Effectively communicate job status to internal stakeholders, including Sales, Management, and Engineering teams.
  • Communicate daily with field staff for project updates and ensure project progress is on track.
  • Mentor technicians directly and indirectly managed by PM to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to complete projects successfully.
  • Create project cost and scheduling reports to ensure project financials are accurately tracked.
  • Handle calls from customers to provide technical support and answer questions regarding system operation, technical issues, installation details, warranty matters, and monitoring queries.
  • Schedule warranty calls with service department as needed throughout the job life cycle.
  • Direct customers to appropriate BSGI parties for assistance and ensure they are satisfied with the project outcome.
  • Schedule final system checkouts with Inspections team to ensure project completion is accurate and meets quality standards.
  • Verify all warranty dates to ensure customers are aware of their warranty coverage.
  • Ensure paperwork related to project is completed and entered in Sedona to ensure accurate project tracking.
  • Communicate need for customer training with BSGI Trainers at completion of project to ensure customers are fully trained on system operation.
  • Update schedule for field staff sick call-offs and approve field staff vacation requests to ensure project continuity.
  • Complete field staff performance reviews to ensure they are meeting project objectives and company expectations.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in a technical field, such as Mechatronics, Electrical, or Engineering, required.
  • Five years of experience in implementing or managing the installation of Electronic Security/Life Safety Systems, or related field, required.
  • At least two years of experience supervising Commissioning Agents, Installers, Apprentices, and Subcontractors, required.
  • Strong knowledge of Life Safety industry fundamentals, NFPA requirements, building code, and operations, required.
  • Solid subcontracting skills, required.
  • In-depth understanding of job financial reports and ability to control costs in handling large projects, required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical capacity or applicable industry experience, preferred.
  • PMP Certification, a plus.
