Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Parts Shipping and Receiving Associate to join our team at AutoNation. As a key member of our retail parts department, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth flow of inventory and shipments, maintaining accurate records, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inventory Management: Count, weigh, and measure items on incoming and outgoing shipments, verify information against invoices, orders, and other records.
  • Shipping and Receiving: Determine the method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates. Keep all bins, aisles, and storage areas clean and clearly labeled.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain receiving and shipping records, delivery truck maintenance records, and returned parts records.
  • Quality Control: Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with the shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
  • Inventory Control: Ensure that outgoing shipments meet specifications and maintain an inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
  • Operational Support: Must be able to operate heavy machinery, such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Experience: One year of experience in a retail or wholesale parts department.
  • Skills: Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information, ability to interpret vendor catalogs, and ability to use parts department computer systems.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Valid driver's license and an acceptable, safe driving record.
