Job Summary:

The Cuyahoga County Board of Health is seeking a skilled Public Health Nurse Supervisor to lead our team in providing exceptional healthcare services. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of public health programs, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing leadership and direction to staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate public health programs, including policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Provide leadership and direction to staff in providing programmatic services, ensuring proper compliance with regulatory and funder requirements.
  • Develop and write grant applications and related documents, including needs assessments, program methodologies, staffing, and funding requirements.
  • Manage the performance of assigned staff, initiate the hiring and progressive discipline process, and prepare/revises budgets, monitor expenditures, and ensure program fiscal administration.
  • Participate in local and state-wide meetings to stay abreast of changes in public health trends and regulations that may impact assigned services or program(s).
  • Represent CCBH on state/national sub-committees, participate in CCBH initiatives for program improvement and funding, and lead and/or provide oversight of the planning, development, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of multisector partnerships of assigned programs.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing.
  • Valid state of Ohio Registered Nurse license; current CPR certification.
  • Minimum of five years of public health nursing experience, including experience as a Program Manager or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license and insurance at time of appointment.
  • Strong ability to efficiently multi-task on a daily basis.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ability to preserve confidentiality of protected health information and program records.
  • Strong customer service, verbal and written communication, strategic thinking, and leadership skills, and effective presentation skills.
  • Good interpersonal relationship skills, including cultural sensitivity & competence.
  • Proficiency with use of PC hardware & basic software (i.e., Microsoft office), email, and office equipment (i.e., copier, fax, scanner, telephone, etc.).
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Proficiency with databases and data collection methodology.
