Forensic Anthropology Fellow Opportunity

Cedar Park Group is seeking a highly skilled Forensic Anthropology Fellow to join our team. As a Forensic Anthropology Fellow, you will have the opportunity to work alongside our experienced staff and contribute to the interpretation of skeletal and cartilaginous trauma, decedent identification, cold case work, and ongoing identification efforts of World Trade Center victims.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in casework and attend death scenes to assist with identifying unknown decedents and processing evidence.
  • Be introduced to the quality management system required for forensic analysis, including competency testing, proficiency testing, peer review, and standard operating procedures.
  • Have access to educational opportunities in medicolegal death investigation and the forensic sciences through lectures, grand rounds presentations, and engagement with other medicolegal professionals.
  • Work alongside staff forensic anthropologists who will provide instruction and supervision.
Requirements:
  • A completed PhD in Anthropology (Forensic or Biological) from an accredited college or university.
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of anthropological theory, principles, procedures, and techniques related to human remains and bone pathology/trauma analysis.
  • Successful completion of graduate coursework and/or training involving human osteology, skeletal growth and development, skeletal pathology, archaeological techniques, evidence handling, and forensic science principles.
  • The ability to apply knowledge of anthropological and forensic theory to practical analysis and curation of human remains.
  • Advanced writing, analytical, and problem-resolution skills.
Preferred Skills:
  • Prior experience in a Medical Examiner/Coroner's Office and interacting with law enforcement.
  • Training in histology, comparative medical imaging analysis, statistics, human gross anatomy, legal/judicial procedures, and photography.
