Job Summary:

Osseo Area Schools is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality healthcare services to students and staff. Your expertise will play a vital role in maintaining a healthy and safe learning environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assess health status and provide first aid, emergency care, and other illness interventions according to school district guidelines.
• Administer medication and/or specialized health care treatments to students as directed by physicians and authorized by parents or guardians.
• Assess the health and developmental status of students through district health screening programs and facilitate referrals to healthcare agencies or facilities when necessary.
• Promote and maintain the health and well-being of students, families, and school personnel through health teaching and counseling.
• Develop Individual Health/Emergency Plans for students with special needs and communicate with families, teachers, and staff regarding plan development and implementation.
• Prevent and control communicable disease through health status assessments and implementation of state immunization laws.

Qualifications:

• Must be a registered nurse currently licensed in the State of Minnesota.
• Basic first aid and health screening skills are required.
• Ability to communicate and foster positive working relationships with students, parents, and staff.
• Ability to teach health information to student groups.
• Public health background is preferred.
• Current CPR certification is required.
• Computer skills are preferred.
