About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Memory Care Activity Specialist to join our team at Atria Senior Living - Woodbriar Park. As a key member of our community, you will be responsible for creating engaging and meaningful activities for our residents with Alzheimer's and dementia.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement activity programs that cater to the diverse needs and interests of our residents.
  • Lead Life Guidance programs and develop service plans that promote resident engagement and well-being.
  • Collaborate with the Life Guidance Director to plan and implement daily programs, including activities of daily living.
  • Plan and execute individual birthday celebrations for each resident.
  • Develop programs for residents, including those confined to their rooms, to ensure their participation and engagement.
  • Engage and motivate residents to participate in activities, resulting in increased program participation.
  • Assist in planning parties and activities, as well as decorating the community according to the season and/or vacation throughout the years.
  • Support and actively participate in the community's census building initiatives.
  • Maintain records of all activities, resident participation levels, and acceptance of each activity by residents as required by state law.
  • Assist the Life Guidance Director in enlisting the services of volunteers to aid the activities program.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years prior experience with an adult population developing and implementing activities and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Working knowledge of the methods of recreational therapy or activity programming and their application to activity and leisure needs of residents with Alzheimer's/Dementia.
  • Required certification(s) based on current state regulations.
  • Able to work various schedules and shifts as needed.
