Admissions Coordinator

As an Admissions Coordinator, you will play a critical role in supporting our mission by gathering pre-admission patient information, determining admission suitability, and providing excellent customer service to patients, families, and referring parties.
Key Responsibilities- Provide exceptional customer service and communicate effectively with Gosnold customers, including patients, families, healthcare providers, and other referring parties.
- Determine preliminary payer status and verify health insurance coverage upon admission.
- Prepare and maintain accurate and complete electronic/paper patient records, reflecting current level of care and other pertinent information.
- Initiate financial interviews with clients, collect relevant documentation and money, and assist with follow-up and collection activities to ensure client payment for services.
- Communicate with other departments to ensure maximum utilization and reimbursement.
- Clearly and accurately communicate knowledge of the programs in the Gosnold service line and optimize referrals to Gosnold inpatient, residential, family, or outpatient programs.
- Retain knowledge and awareness of key Gosnold referral accounts, prioritize their requests accordingly, and process patient records in accordance with established Gosnold standards.
- Respond to general information requests by directing callers to websites or other information sources.
- Interface with all levels of management and peers in a manner that promotes learning and mutual respect.
- Support new initiatives, seek creative solutions to challenges, and participate in department and program improvement projects.
- Collect and document pertinent financial and personal information relative to patient treatment.
- Understand or be able to learn about systems of addiction and mental health treatment.
- Collect and interpret clinical information provided by referents or prospective patients.
- Work as an active and cooperative member of the Patient Access team.
- Maintain accurate admission documents and prepare statistical reports for management within established time schedules.
Requirements
- High School Diploma
- Ability to use a computer and web-based programs
- Strong customer service orientation
- Knowledge of electronic data systems
- Ability to accurately enter data into an electronic health record system
- Ability to multi-task and service multiple callers
