About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Project Controls Specialist to join our team at Clark Construction Group. As a trusted financial resource, you will serve as the primary liaison between operations and corporate finance, providing financial reporting, compliance, and processing responsibilities for construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Compile and review owner requisitions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Resolve internal audit findings and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Process subcontractor requisitions and accounts payable, maintaining accurate records and ensuring timely payments.
  • Monitor consumable materials purchasing and equipment inventory, identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Manage field payroll, ensuring compliance with company policies and labor laws.
  • Assist with project setup, closeout, and owner contract review, ensuring seamless transitions and accurate documentation.
  • Lien waiver and insurance administration, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Track and report small business participation, ensuring compliance with company goals and regulatory requirements.

Project Finance

  • Support monthly project financial forecasting, providing accurate and timely financial data to stakeholders.
  • Prepare monthly cost reports, analyzing variances and identifying opportunities for cost savings.
  • Monitor key performance indicators, ensuring projects are on track to meet financial and operational goals.
  • Implement process innovations and improvements, enhancing project efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Monitor project cash flow, identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Lead change order monitoring and reconciliation, ensuring accurate and timely payments.
  • Oversee contract administration, change orders, procurement, schedule, and financial reporting, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Secure required permits and verify insurance coverage for subcontractors, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Facilitate project meetings, ensuring successful coordination of work activities.
  • Lead, train, and develop project team members, enhancing their skills and knowledge.
  • Prepare and submit monthly job status reports, outlining project priorities and issues.
  • Lead project close-out, ensuring seamless transitions and accurate documentation.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with counterparts at owner, engineering, and design firms.
  • Establish project deadlines and monitor progress, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Drive a culture of safety on the project site, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Support the company's acquisition of new work by participating in proposals and presentations.
  • Provide leadership to foster an environment of inclusion and diversity, promoting a positive and respectful work culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Construction Management, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or other business-related fields.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Careful attention to detail and reliability of output, with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced team environment, with a strong focus on meeting deadlines and delivering results.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with experience in financial analysis and reporting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SAP, Textura, Coupa, or Google platforms, with a strong understanding of financial systems and processes.
  • Highly motivated individual with strong organizational and time management skills, with a strong focus on delivering results and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with a strong focus on financial analysis and reporting.
