Job Title: Neonatal Nurse Practitioner

Emory University is seeking a highly skilled Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to join our team in the Department of Pediatrics, Neonatology. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care to newborns and their families in emergency and non-emergency situations.

Job Summary:

The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner will work under the supervision of an attending neonatologist and follow established protocols to manage care for high-risk newborns and their families. This includes collaborating with other healthcare professionals to identify and stabilize high-risk infants and establish a care plan.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess patient by obtaining comprehensive perinatal history
  • Perform physical assessment of body systems and interpret findings
  • Identify and assist with high-risk deliveries
  • With required physician supervision, perform or order diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for newborns
  • Thoroughly document all aspects of patient care using established charting procedure
  • Serve as a consultant on the care of chronically ill infants or those with complex medical problems
  • Assist with family education and outreach education activities
Requirements:
  • Completion of an accredited Neonatal Nurse Practitioner program or Physician Assistant program
  • Currently licensed as an advanced practice provider in the state of Georgia by the Georgia Board of Nursing and certified as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or equivalent body
  • Physician Assistants may require at least one year of direct experience in neonatology
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's prepared Neonatal Nurse Practitioner with APRN licensure in GA
  • Related experience preferred
