Job Summary:

Alliant Health Solutions is seeking a skilled Utilization Review Nurse to join our team. As a Utilization Review Nurse, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and effectiveness of our healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct medical reviews of requests for Emergency Medicaid Services to ensure compliance with federal guidelines and state policy.
  • Process EMS requests in our system, requiring a medical review, and perform reviews accurately and efficiently within specified time requirements.
  • Evaluate submitted information and review retrospective cases that meet criteria or use experience and nursing judgment to approve requests.
  • Render appropriate decisions based on received information using established criteria and document the rationale for all decisions.
  • Work collaboratively with the EMS Review team to oversee and support quality and review functions.
  • Identify and document suspected cases of fraud and abuse for further referral.

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) with a current North Carolina license.
  • Two years of medical utilization review and/or quality assurance experience.
  • Three years of clinical experience in more than one patient care setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Nationally recognized certification in a nursing specialty.
