Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at CGH Medical Center. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain blood specimens and collect non-blood specimens for testing, ensuring specimen requirements are met and maintaining specimen integrity.
  • Coordinate the collection of therapeutic drug-monitoring assays with nursing personnel to ensure proper drug dose to collection time.
  • Assist in the training of new staff in specimen collection procedures and other job duties.
  • Perform EKGs and assist in the medication history and refill process under the direction of the licensed nurse or provider.
  • Maintain communication with pharmacies and work on issues as they arise.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
  • Current MA Certification from one of the following: CMA, RMA, or NCMA.
  • Completion of Phlebotomy course or experience in phlebotomy preferred.
  • BLS Required within 30 days of hire and must be maintained throughout employment at CGH.
  • Prior experience as a medical assistant preferred.
  • Basic computer knowledge preferred.
