The Nurse Residency Specialist is a key role in creating a supportive learning environment for new graduate nurses to develop their skills and progress in their careers. This position is responsible for coaching and mentoring nurse residents, implementing system-level guidelines, and promoting participant retention.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and deliver nursing residency classes and experiences at the system and ministry levels.
- Participate in the development and enhancement of the nurse residency program.
- Utilize integrative learning approaches to assist nurse residents with clinical reasoning and skill development.
- Collaborate with preceptors and nurse leaders to ensure progressive assessment and monitoring of nurse residents.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to preceptors and assigned nurse residents.
- Work closely with preceptors to ensure a smooth transition from student to professional practice role.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing.
- Three years' registered nurse experience.
- Constant standing and walking.
- Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
- Frequent reaching, gripping, and keyboard use/data entry.
