Job Title: Youth Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Specialist to join our team at Burrell Behavioral Health. As a key member of our residential program, you will play a vital role in supporting the emotional and behavioral well-being of our clients. Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure adherence to program expectations and rules, reporting any concerns to supervisors to facilitate therapeutic interventions.
  • Participate as an active member of the treatment team, identifying clients' strengths, needs, and preferences to inform care planning.
  • Document and report exceptional behavior, areas of concern, and client progress to ensure continuity of care.
  • Assist clients with daily activities, monitor their behavior, and maintain accurate records of their progress.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of clients, adhering to precaution protocols and maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure medication policies are followed, and provide client transportation as needed.
  • Maintain a professional standard of behavior, adhering to agency expectations and program philosophy.
  • Complete mandatory training within the required timeframe and attend staff meetings, treatment team meetings, and training sessions as requested.
Requirements:
  • High school education or equivalent and two years of responsible employment history.
  • Successful completion of a background check, including a criminal record, driving record, and abuse/neglect check.
  • Completion of New Hire Orientation within 30 days of employment and all training requirements, including Relias Learning, within two weeks of employment and annually thereafter.
  • First Aid Certification within 30 days of employment and annually thereafter, and CPR certification within 30 days of beginning employment and upon renewal date.
  • Behavioral Management training completed within 30 days of employment or first available class after start date.
  • Valid driver's license in the state of residency with an acceptable driving record.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age to operate a company-owned vehicle and at least 23 years of age to operate a company-owned 15-passenger van.
Physical Requirements:

Sedentary work, exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, or pull objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking and standing occasionally.
